Raku Vase - 1

Approx. 6” tall x 4” wide

Raku is a Japanese style of ceramics first developed in the 1580’s. It is characterized by removing a clay object out of the kiln at the height of the firing, when it is red hot, and rapidly cooling it. The object is then placed in a container full of combustible materials like sawdust or paper. This causes a reaction that creates unique patterns and colors on each piece. The most common form of Raku pottery is tea bowls.

Each vase is made, one of a kind, in house.
Due to the unique nature of each piece, replacement, refunds, and matching is not possible. All extra care will be taken when shipping ceramics but we are not responsible for breakage after it leaves our hands. If you receive a broken order, please contact us at [email protected] and we will do our best to resolve the issue. Orders that have ceramics will start with a $15 shipping fee instead of the usual starting rate of $3.
